MacDonell House Interpreter/Weekend Receptionist
The Allen County Museum is looking for interested and qualified people to fill a part-time historic interpreter/tour guide position at the MacDonell House for Thursdays and Fridays along with every other weekend. Potential candidates should possess a strong interest in history and good public relations/communication skills. This position would also include working at the receptionist desk in the main museum on the weekends not serving as a house interpreter.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides tours and interpretation of the history of the MacDonell House, its owners, contents, along with additional information of the local and general history to our visitors and school tours in an interesting, entertaining, and factual manner with presentations geared to the age and specific needs of the audience. When not giving tours, the position would include working in the main museum assisting staff, as necessary. On opposite weekends you would be serving as the Weekend Receptionist in the main museum. Answering phones, greeting visitors, and selling items in the gift shop. Hours vary with the seasons.
